“The life of a man consists not in seeing visions and in dreaming dreams, but in active charity and in willing service.” - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, American poet and educator
The Sun Capital Partners Foundation, Inc. was established in 2007 to unite the Sun Capital family – Sun Capital's employees, portfolio companies and business partners – in a purposeful philanthropic effort. Thanks to the substantial support of our employees, coupled with their passion for making an impact in the community, the Foundation serves to enhance Sun Capital’s strong culture of social engagement and giving back.
Sun Capital Partners founders Marc J. Leder and Rodger R. Krouse have always believed that success brings with it a responsibility to make a difference in our communities. By supporting innovative non-profit organizations, the Foundation aims to fulfill its mission of promoting sustainable, positive change. We thoughtfully select causes that address vital community needs and issues.
We’re extremely proud that, since its inception, the Sun Capital Partners Foundation has been able to support more than 250 organizations in meaningful and compassionate pursuits. Through the dedication of our enthusiastic donors, we’re honored to support the good work of local non-profits and educational institutions, while also responding to urgent relief efforts stemming from events such as Hurricane Sandy and the Haiti earthquake.
The Foundation’s mission remains closely tied to the Sun Capital Partners culture of integrity, fairness, commitment and passion. To reinforce this connection, charitable contributions by Sun Capital Partners employees are amplified through a 2x matching gift program.
The Foundation’s Charity Committee carefully evaluates potential charitable partners to ensure the funding we provide will be put to use effectively and have impact. By working hand-in-hand with our sponsored causes, we are rewarded by seeing goals achieved, lives improved, and our communities strengthened.
Since inception, the Foundation has donated to over 250 charities. Sample of local charities in Florida which the Foundation has partnered with include:
